Confidence actually can be derived from its Latin roots to be explained as "with trust" or "with faith" or "with belief". A confident child displays a belief in his or her own abilities. Such a belief is developed over time but hinges upon the ability to experience self-trust. So how can parents, child care providers and teachers nurture such qualities in a young child?
Children develop a complex interplay between their internal and external environments. Parents, child care providers and teachers play an enormous role in a child's world. Children naturally look up to their parents, child care providers and/or teachers for guidance, feeling good and learning how to behave and believe in themselves. Some key points to nurture self-trust and confidence in a child are:

EDUCARE Educational Child Care will provide a variety of material and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play. A preschool program is an important time in a child’s life not just because it is a great opportunity to socialize, but also because it gives them the foundation to become a well-rounded confident student for the rest of their lives.
At EDUCARE Educational Child Care the child will experience a home environment incorporated with a preschool teaching strategy. The child will be introduced to subjects of language, math, art, science, practical life activities, sensorial activities, music and dance at the experience level of a 3-5 years-old.
Creativity and art. Strategies that build a child’s imagination and creativity can also help them learn colors and shapes as well as improve their motor skills. Creative processes such as drawing, singing, or movement help children articulate experiences, express emotions, and understand cause and effect.

Play Based Curriculum
Free play curriculum will be incorporated throughout the day. Free play is typically described as play that is child-directed, voluntary, internally motivated, and pleasurable. Child-directed play with peers has been highlighted as an important endeavor for children to develop social and emotional competencies, such as leading and following rules, resolving conflicts, and supporting the emotional well-being of others.
Example:
Preschoolers, from ages 3 to 5 years, are more capable of imagining roles behind their pretend play. Their play becomes more social, and they enjoy make-believe play. They assign roles to themselves and others involving several sequenced steps often with a predetermined plan, like pretending to be at the doctor’s office or having a tea party.
As children advance linguistically, cognitively, and socially, their play begins to include fantasy, drama, and imitation. Dramatic Play is the most advanced form of symbolic play and requires the use of imagination to carry out their roles. Children learn skills in negotiation, listening, sharing, taking turns, and respecting others’ feelings, thoughts, ideas, and physical space through dramatic play.
Parents, child care providers, and teachers can enhance the child’s ability to play make-believe by providing loose parts, that have more than one purpose, such as building blocks, boxes and non-realistic materials that can be imagined symbolically as other objects. Themed settings, such as play grocery stores, or doll houses, all allow for pretend play.
Montessori Curriculum
A Montessori work period will be a part of our curriculum as well. What I like about the Montessori materials is using activities initially presented by the teacher, after which they may be chosen more or less freely by the children as interest dictates. A teacher's role within a Montessori classroom is to guide and consult students individually by letting each child create their own learning pathway. Classroom materials usually include activities for engaging in practical skills such as pouring and spooning, washing up, scrubbing tables and sweeping. Also materials for the development of the senses, mathematical materials, language materials, music, art and cultural materials, including more science based activities like sink and float will be used.
